Care Instructions

Troentorp Clogs have three main parts: the wood insole, leather upper, and polyurethane outsole. Each of these parts are durable but they will get dirty and undergo 'wear and tear' eventually. If you choose to clean your clogs, you can gently wash the materials with a damp cloth. If your clogs ever become wet, the wood bottoms can absorb the moisture. And it is very important that if they become too wet, you allow them to dry naturally and slowly at room temperature. Do not heat or speed dry your clogs because this can cause the wood to crack.

LEATHER CARE

We recommend treating your clogs with a water repellent spray or leather protectant cream. A protectant cream will shield the leather from scratches, scuffs, and water damage. For nubuck, suede, and patent leathers, we recommend treating with material-specific product. To maximize the life of your clogs, continue regular use of these care products. If you have questions about specific products or applications, your local cobbler can be a very helpful resource. We'd be happy to help as well.

REGULAR/MATTE LEATHER

These leathers have a smooth finish that can be easily cleaned. Use a damp cloth to wipe off any dirt. If this does not work, try soap and water, and allow the leather to dry.

NUBUCK AND SUEDE

You can wipe these leathers with a damp cloth to remove surface
dirt. Then use a nubuck & suede brush to remove stains on the surface of the leather. You can also use a nubuck & suede protection spray to give a layer of protection against wet and stains. For best results this spray should be applied on the leather when the clogs are new.

PATENT LEATHER

You can wipe our patent leather clogs with a damp cloth. If this does not work, try soap and water on the spots of dirt. For more serious marks or stains, a very light applicatio
of nail polish remover can be effective; but make sure to use only a small amount with caution.
